NOVEMBER 2021 NEWS AND IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

MPA November News:

Fall and Thanksgiving blessings are in the air and this month “grateful” is the theme/character trait of the month.

Please remind your child to leave all Halloween candy at home. Candy brought to school will be held by the teacher or office until the end of the school day.

The Center for Cultural Awareness will continue stopping by for weekly classroom visits. The students have enjoyed having social and academic support from this team!

Please wish Ms. Collier, our fabulous school counselor, best wishes as she goes on maternity leave on November 4th. We are excited for the debut of little Baby Collier!

Please welcome new Instructional Aides, Ms. Reyolds, Ms. Bobbi, and Ms. King to our MPA family. They are excited and eager to help our students learn and grow!

Dress Code: We understand that finding school uniforms during the pandemic has been tough, however, students coming to school in leggings, ripped jeans, crop tops, etc. will be in violation of the dress code policy and discipline action will be taken. Please send your student to school in clothing that is school appropriate and as close to uniform as possible.

Important Dates to Remember:

Parent/Teacher Conferences: November 3rd 3:30-6:00 (by appointment only). Please contact your child’s teacher for alternate days/times.

School Spirit Week: November 15-19th. Details will be sent home and posted on the school’s FB page.

Picture Retake Day: November 18, 20201
*Students taking retakes may dress down for the day.

“Slam Dunk Awards”: November 19, 2021
*Students will be celebrated for achieving good attendance, high honors, honor roll, and/or merit roll for quarter 1. Due to Covid protocols, this is a staff and student only event.

Interim Reports: November 22, 2021

Annual Turkey Bowl and Thanksgiving Dinner Drawings: Tuesday, November 23rd
*Staff and student only event.

Thanksgiving Break: November 24-26th. School resumes on Tuesday, November 30th.

Teacher Professional Development Day (no school for students): Monday, November 29th
